Fallen Angel

Post by Cassiel » Tue Sep 19, 2017 5:24 pm

Race: Fallen angel, Fallen
Playable: Yes: Approval required
Average Lifespan: Unknown
Reproduction: None - see also: link
Powers/Abilities: Flight/teleportation, many of the abilities of angels but much much weaker
Additional Information:
Angels that have fallen and are exiled. They fall one of two ways. They're essentially exiled for doing something really terribly wrong. Or, they choose it, by choosing free will. They can still fly/teleport, but all other abilities are only at a fraction of what they were before they fell. Something about the process that renders them fallen also makes them incapable of reproduction.

Nephilim

Post by Cassiel » Tue Sep 19, 2017 5:27 pm

Race: Nephilim
Playable: Yes: Approval required
Average Lifespan: Unknown
Reproduction: Hybrid, Normal - see also: link
Powers/Abilities: Innate magic along the lines of sorcerers but often more powerful, the strength of the magic is often related to how far removed in generations from the angel ancestor the nephilim is. Often an affiliation for elemental magic of some type. Soulbonding, especially with other nephilim. Creation and manipulation of dimensional pockets. Heightened senses compared to humans. Some innate healing abilities, but this varies with each nephilim.
Additional Information:
The children - or descendants - of angel and human breeding. Most of these children do not survive gestation, and of the few who do, many of them never survive infancy. Survival rates increase the further from the original angel ancestor they are, genetically (i.e., the more human blood they have). They have traits of both human and angel, and can easily exceed the magical capabilities and power of either. Nephilim have wings like their angel parent/ancestor, but they are unable to fly. Instead, the wings act as a source of power and magic, and can be hidden away in a sort of pocket dimension where they cannot be seen or detected.

Revenant

Post by Cassiel » Tue Sep 19, 2017 5:58 pm

Race: Revenant
Playable: Yes: Approval required
Average Lifespan: Unknown.
Reproduction: None.
Powers/Abilities: Can only be 'killed' by serious damage to or the destruction of the brain, the choice of necromancer who raised it, or the death of the necromancer who raised it.
Additional Information: Revenants are the result of a necromancer raising a corpse (human or animal) without the spirit/soul present. Unlike zombies, they have intelligence and reasoning capability that is mostly related to the skill and power of the necromancer that raised them.

Darkling

Post by Cassiel » Fri Oct 20, 2017 4:32 pm

Race: Darkling
Playable: Yes: Approval required, extremely limited
Average Lifespan: Unknown.
Reproduction: Unknown.
Powers/Abilities: Shapeshifting, both changing to various animals (same size/mass range as shapeshifters) and changing 'faces' and bodyshape/type on their humanoid form to take the appearance of other people. Lengthened lifespan, heightened senses, and heightened regeneration even beyond that of shapeshifters/were. The ability (and need) to feed on and manipulate the emotions/feelings/lifeforce of other beings. The ability to mesmerize and enthrall their chosen prey much like a powerful fey. The ability to take a psychic imprint of a person and assume that person's personality, with the limitations that the person must be deceased at the time of the imprinting, and the corpse can be no more than 24 hours old, and the imprinting leaves the darkling in a state similar to a coma for around a day.
Additional Information: A darkling is a creature that is created from a shapeshifter by a particularly gifted (and sadistic and/or psychotic - by human standards) fey, an are particularly difficult to create. Most that are attempted - which is a rare thing to begin with - die in the process. Those that survive the process are forever changed, and most lose all memory of who and what they were before becoming a darkling, and it's not at all unusual that they end up insane to some degree. Often, they are created to serve either the fey that creates them, or some other powerful fey that is willing to offer enough incentive to risk their creation in the first place. Darklings are often meant to be hunters for their fey masters, or used in deceptions, or in any other of many different ways. They are, however, little known, even among fey. And many of those that know of them think them like dragons, merely a myth, or something long extinct from the distant past.
